Thank you Dianne! I'm excited to do some visits - though this Saturday I have earmarked for the Garden Show at Nambour! Keen to get some good learning in, I'm only what I consider a level one gardener (only just able to keep things alive without killing them at this stage) so I have a lot to learn.

Hi Dianne,

Thanks for the friend request! Re hosting a garden visit in September, a bit of info about our place... it is a duplex on a battle-axe block, so parking is on the street- however there is plenty of room. Then if everyone can just walk up the driveway and to the duplex on the right hand side. It is all flat ground, easy to get around and kid- friendly. Ourr little girl, Sophie, will be 2 by September)

We rent and everything we have in the garden is designed to be able to pack up and take with us to the next place. Having only been in Brisbane for 6 months I am still getting things going again, but hopefully by September there will be a bit more to see!

It is a very small block, but I aim to utilise as much space as possible. I have edibles in pots, some hydroponics and (hopefully by september) at least have made a start on the aquaponics. Also worms and native bees. The bees will be due for a split soon- perhaps we can do that at the Garden visit?

Hope this helps, let me know if you need more info. Cheers!

G'day Dianne, thanks very much for your warm welcome. I have to be honest that it's my hubby Clay who is the green thumb in our family, I just tell him what I want planted and then enjoy the fruits of his labours (literally, haha). Lovely to meet other native bee enthusiasts here too. The GVs sound really lovely; Clay and I would love the opportunity to come along and learn from others and see the variety of gardens around Brissy. We might even be brave enough to share ours sometime in the future too. Thanks also for your tips for the website, I'll spend a bit of time and get to know my way around. Looks like there's lots of 'our kinda people' here :-).

Hi Dianne, Thanks for the welcome. We are a 3 generation family and bought the property with our daughter, son-in-law and baby. It was established with the fruit trees and we are now trying to learn how to care for them and grow as much of our own food as possible. I have almost completed the chook shed so chooks will be arriving soon. I have also started building some wicking beds.

We will be joining some of the groups and the Garden Visits looks very inviting. Hopefully we will have something to share.

Cheers Clive
