Growing local

My capsicums were being nibbled, so I transplanted stinging nettles into the sacks. Hey presto no more wallaby nibbles. The nettles may affect the growth of the capsicums but without them I may not have any capsicum plants left. The nettles will now be removed.

As the nettles are a cold weather plant they are now dying off anyway. The above photo was taken in October, the nettles grew much higher than the capsicums but these are now shooting up with the warmer weather, and are towering over the fading nettles. Hopefully the wallabies have enough grass to eat and will leave my capsicums alone. I will net them if this is not so.
