Growing local

Latest layout configuration. Facing north.
The red berets are shade cloth tops for the terracotta wine coolers which irrigate each milkcrate.
Each crate is lines with weed mat and filled with cheap potting mix blended with sheep or cow manure.
Because of the weed mat walls and frame, you don't get the same pot bound effect that happens with standard pots and containers as aeration is available from 4 sides.

Planned?

Coriander. The standard chive. Parsley(which I don't use so much now but you always gotta have it). Spring onions. Maybe experimental garlic planting. Some perennial basil when I can get it. Mexican coriander (which is hard to grow) -- aka Saw Tooth Coriander..

I want ready access to what I use on a regular basis. I have oregano growing but I'm using dried Mexican Oregano in cooking.

Maybe some more thyme. I love thyme.

And Nigella : Nigella sativa / Black Cumin -- which I use in cooking almost daily.

Is that heaps of garlic chives you have there,  Dave. A little path up the middle gives good access.  What do you have planed for the empty pots near front.
