Growing local

Not a bad haul considering I expected none at all! I admit, I was skeptical. The humungus one at the back I suspect was the original tuber I had planted in February.

Most are quite small, when I dug them up I realized I hadn't watered them enough - the bottom of the pot was bone dry.  I reckon those small ones would have been a lot bigger if I'd cared better for them. I've just got them in the pantry, and will eat them pretty quick.  The big one at the back is obviously beyond eating so I just composted it (so no doubt will have sweet potatoes growing in the compost bin too now!)

That's a nice haul Tracey! Well done.

Now that I'm successfully growing my own (early days) I'm wondering if these fresh home grown jobs will keep better than the store bought which admittedly store quite well in a dark cupboard. How do you store yours?
