The purple peas Florence gave me have finally flowered after a long growing season (at least relative to its plainer cousins, the snow pea and snaps). Hopefully the peas taste as good as the flowers look.

Dang! I figured the purple was one of those much-vaunted anti-oxidants like Beetroot ... Stick with regular climbing Snow Peas for a taste and crunch sensation ;-)

Jan - did you give me some purple pod pea seeds by any chance? I had a little packet and planted them out. Have just found your photo.
Mine are also planted near some sugar snap peas.

Elaine, there is no noticeable fragrance from the flowers (was almost stung in the nose by a bee!). They seem to last a long time as well.
