Hello Lissa
Never actively provided water, but the bird bath is beside their possum boxes. No idea if they use it. The birds love it.

Good on you Glen. I like all the animals that come visit my garden, but then, I don't have Bush Turkeys. I suspect I could learn to hate them.

My possum in the roller door has just come in for the day. Heard it banging around getting inside the door. It eats the pawpaw that I can't reach and is welcome to it. I don't see any other damage around the yard from it.

Do you need to provide water for your possums as well or do they get it from their fruit?

Hello Dianne

Interesting question. I don't know. For some reason we don't blame the brushtails for garden damage. Each night they seem to head South whereas the gardens are North. Like the black cockatoos and pale-headed rosellas, they would be automatically forgiven for anything they chose to do. We have ringtail possums, wood ducks, rats, bats, rabbits and foxes that must shoulder the blame. Perhaps we are animal racists. I often wonder why we don't like the crows and noisy mynahs, but most other animals are treasured.

We are real suckers for Possums here so it is nice to see another Animal Lover. Do they cause much of a problem in your garden are you quite content that there is enough for everyone to share.

I had every manner of Birds eating my Mulberries today, but what the heck!!!

Each Spring we look forward to meeting the baby poss in the cubby loft and the new magpie chicks that nest in our yard. Poss has just graduated from hanging onto Mum's back to demanding some of the apple. This week I have spotted the two magpie chicks foraging on the ground. I hope they all make it. A few years back, they fought over the power pole and things didn't work out for either of them :-(
