About

Birthday:

April 28

About me:

Too much about me...but I became sick and since then been researching and trying to teach myself about veggie garden...I was born a city chick...so I have a lot to learn. I have only started with herbs and I am in the planning to start to grow some veggies...but looking towards the future...I would love to grow those fruits and veggies that I grew up with like caigua and other alike that I know them to be incredibly good for you and are not normally sold here in Australia.

I am currently involved with the following community gardens and groups:

I am just a baby looking to be involved and unfortunately since I am also taking care of my health at the same time...i can only do one thing at a time as I am also studying to be a social worker and planning to share my findings and produce with those who are the most vulnerable in our society.

I am interested in:

ho ho ho....learning about different ways of organically, preserving food for long and shorter periods (a bit of a preper wannabe)...become self sufficient and create my own cheese, yoghurt, paleo bread or sourdough bread...maybe see if I can make my own flour form organic pesticide free crops...learn to grow my own organic veggie garden....yoga, meditation and mindfulness....volunteering and cook for the less fortunate...etc etc etc

I can offer (you can't offer too much or too little - we don't mind)

Information, Events, Community Involvement, Gardening Help, None/Unsure

What I am looking for:

  • Good Sandra, Welcome to Brisbane Local Foods (BLF).

Here at the top of the page, you will find many GROUPS to join. One is these is the GARDEN VISITS, 2018 GARDEN VISITS CALENDAR. I am sure you would enjoy visiting our member’s gardens. We have members who grow many different kinds of Gardens, Permaculture, Aquaculture, Wicking Beds, Traditional and many more. The GV's are usually held once a month. At the GV's we share cuttings, plants, produce, seeds, knowledge as well as a good chat and a lovely Homemade Morning Teas.

We have many subjects of interest, if you have any questions I am sure we would have a member or site available to answer that question. If you feel you are particularly adept in a field you may like to add a new Group to our List or perhaps do a talk or demonstration at one of our GV. If a yes for the GV you might like to friend me and we can see what we can do. We are always looking for new ideas.

You may like to go into your page and change the Pea Leaf Avatar for one of your own, it makes it a little more personal and as soon as we see your own Avatar we know who it is. Please enjoy BLF…..
