About me:
I'm passionate about food systems and trying to steer them into a more sustainable and environmentally sensitive direction. I am involved with the local urban farming community in Brisbane and currently work as a garden specialist teaching primary school age children about how to grow food as part of the Stephanie Alexander program at Bulimba State School. I also coordinate a backyard urban farming project that aims to empower local inner city residents to learn how to grow their own veges and potentially begin to link up with others in the area to provide access to fresh, local food (check out www.forkhaycityfarms.com for more info). As of writing, the Forkhay City Farms project is temporarily on hold while I concentrate on my garden teaching job however the intention is to start it moving again in 2018.
