Thanks for the welcome Lissa, we're in Mitchelton. We haven't started running workshops yet, but that's on the cards in the future for us as a way of sharing information, educating the community and giving people confidence with handling their hives. We have over 40 hives now so there's plenty of opportunity to workshop a hive split or robbing honey if there's enough interest out there.
We have both log hives which we sell for $400 and normal boxed hives with 'honey supers' which we sell for $500.
Thanks for the tip on advertising and tagging. I'm still getting a feel for where everything is on the site. There's so much to see here!!!
I lost the plot Jacqui. It's at Mary-Ann's at Dayboro on the 10th of December.
I'd love to meet up with your lovely little family sometime. Your son is quite talented. I'm away for the next visit which is at Susan's (she has very impressive results in a small yard, if you were wondering whether to attend). The Christmas visit is at Gayle's who is at Bridgeman Downs. My Rozie and I will be at that one for sure.
Good Morning Jacqui, Welcome to Brisbane Local Foods (BLF). I to love my Native Bees and they do need a hive split if I ever get up the courage to do it. Also fruit trees are a passion of mine as well though a lot of mine are pretty young. Would love to meet you at a Garden Visit sometime you sound like just the type of member our group would have in common with.
Here at the top of the page, you will find many GROUPS to join. One is the GARDEN VISITS, 2017 GARDEN VISITS CALENDAR here. I am sure you would enjoy visiting our member’s gardens. We have members who grow many different kinds of Gardens, Permaculture, Aquaculture, Wicking Beds, Traditional and many more. The GV's are usually held once a month. At the GV's we share cuttings, plants, produce, seeds, knowledge as well as a good chat and a lovely Homemade Morning Teas.
We have many subjects of interest, if you have any questions I am sure we would have a member or site available to answer that question.
You may like to go into your page and change the Pea Leaf Avatar for one of your own, it makes it a little more personal and as soon as we see your own Avatar we know who it is. Please enjoy BLF…..
Welcome Jacqui :)
Where exactly (suburb) are you at on the Northside? Do you run any workshops? How much do you sell your hives for?
You can advertise your hives under Forum (top menu bar) under the appropriate sub heading.
Don't forget to add your Tags so a search brings up your posting.
Hi Jacqui. Welcome to the site. You might have had some comments on your Youtube channel from me as McDowall Manor. This is a lovely little community that I hope your family enjoys very much.
