I love this season for growing leafy greens, and I feel so virtuous for eating so many of them! My recent favourites for sheer ease of growing are Senposai and Tokyo bekana. Being brassicas they are so easy to grow from seed - up in a few days,…
These are the best days in the year for gardening, the best time to live in Brisbane in my opinion. Less pests and less sweat but the dense winter shade is the main challenge I face in this garden built around a two storey house with trees also…
With the amazing season of rain we've had (plus several weeks of full time work) I've been finding it hard to keep up outside. The growth is rampant! My tanks are full and I've had little call to use them. …

Thanks for the welcome Cathie. Sorry it took me so long to get back, I've not been here.
Thanks so much Cathie. I have only been gardening a short time and really taken to it like a duck to water. I spent a few years overseas doing volunteer work and dragon fruit was my absolute favourite fruit. I was so happy when I came back and found out I could grow some of my own. I look forward to hearing about your varieties and what you have been doing in your garden. chat soon K

Thanks so much for being a GV Reporter Cathie! ... and sorry to hear about the posting issues.
Myself and other GV reporters have most likely had similar fun with this at some time.
With so many photos, we have split the report into 2 parts on 2 separate posts in many cases.
I tend to keep the picture file sizes between 100K - 500K, and sometimes a little larger.
And using a word processing program on the computer to prepare the report, followed by a cut & paste when ready can avoid loss resulting from potential site, Web, ISP or local networking issues.
Cathie - which retirement village do you work at? If you don't want to state publicly can you send me a PM (Private Message - top right of any page where it says Inbox).
I also work in aged care and would be interested to know about your community garden in the retirement village.
Welcome to Brisbane Local Food Cathie :)
