One off my bucket list, we visited the Narangba Nursery which is run by a young couple and they are doing a good job.  They have their own tissue culture bananas and quite a few exotic and native plants on hand. This Syzygium is known as the rose apple, a bright red watery fruit which is mostly seedless.

The tree has been thoroughly researched for it's medicinal qualities,  maybe this is why the islander people love to have this tree.

  • Have you tasted these Christa? My fav is Syzygium jambos (rose apple) yellow fruit with a pleasant rose water taste.

    • No Doug, and it looks like I won't as the plant died while we were away for a week at North Coast.  The one you speak of is hard to get hold of.  I will keep my eye out for it.

  • Fabulous, I look forward to tasting the fruit.
