Council composting workshops

During May and June, Brisbane City Council is offering residents and schools a range of free workshops to learn about composting and worm farming at home.

Bookings are essential as places are limited. Phone Growing Communities at Spiral Community Hub on 07 3844 7733 to book your place.

Composting and worm farming: microscopic workers in your garden

A hands-on workshop exploring the importance of composting and worm farming. Participants will take home a basic but effective worm farm. Morning tea and an optional tour of the community garden follow the workshop.

Schools

Brisbane City Council in partnership with Growing Communities is offering schools the chance to join in one of four School Grapevine networking sessions. Teachers, parents and grounds people are invited to attend the workshops which includes composting, worm farming and school garden initiatives.

Schools can share how their gardens are working, getting projects off the ground and how to support each other. The host school will establish the garden project and advise how it is included in the school curriculum. Afternoon tea will be provided.
