Redcliffe Botanical Gardens, free parking and a regular shuttle service from Redcliffe Showgrounds to the Botanic Gardens (George Street entrance) (9.15am to 3.45pm).

What's on

Enjoy fabulous food, wine and market stalls; be inspired by top chefs; relax in the crochet lounge; check out the many plant, garden and environment group displays and colourful art and craft displays and demonstrations. Watch wandering minstrels and gypsies; get the kids painting, potting, baking and making at the many fun workshops on offer.

10.00am - Annette McFarlane

Author, lecturer, ABC Radio Gardening talkback presenter, Gardening columnist for the Sunday Mail newspaper and author of four books including, Successful Gardening in Warm Climates, Organic Vegetable Gardening and most recently Organic Fruit Growing. Annette will teach you how to grow beautiful fruit all year round.

11.00am - Clair Levander
Host of 4BC’s “Talking Gardening” program (Saturday and Sunday 6.00am to 8.00am 4BC 1116AM).  Curious as to how to get rid of those pesky bugs effecting your garden?
12noon - Bring your questions to the Gurus of Gardening with Annette, Clair and Jerry

1.15pm - Jerry Coleby-Williams
Jerry is a Queensland based presenter for ABC TV’s Gardening Australia. Inspired by his family of gardeners and farmers, he has been gardening since the age of four.  In 2003, he founded Bellis, a sustainable home and garden. Jerry is horticultural editor of Organic Gardene Jerry brings to the gardens his knowledge of sustainable living.

Vetiver grass helps to stabilise soil and protects it against erosion.  It can protect against pests and weeds. Vetiver is also used as animal feed. (Wiki.)

GrowVetiver is a plant nursery run by Dave & Keir Riley that harvests and grows Vetiver grass for local community applications and use. It is based in Beachmere, just north of Brisbane, Australia.
