Event Description

This Saturday, Sunnybank will become Brisbane’s Asian flavour food capital with a $2 food trail for lunch and dinner.

Take yourself on a self-guided Sunnybank $2 Food Trail to discover the authentic Asian flavours of Sunnybank.

The food adventure will run from 12pm to 2pm or from 6pm to 8pm this Saturday 8 November.

Since Sunnybank Plaza first opened in 1975 and Sunny Park opened in 1983, food has always been a strong point. Today, the two shopping centres host more than 50 restaurants and cafes and offer delicious authentic Asian cuisine.

There are so many places to choose from but unless you are a local, it is tricky knowing which foodie destinations offer the best and most authentic dishes. Do you want to know where you can you find the best ramen in Brisbane, that is as delicious as ordering from a izakaya on the streets of Tokyo? How about the best BBQ meat that all the locals rave about? Or the best Peking duck that celebrity chefs would recommend?

To help food lovers discover Sunnybank’s array of delicious food destinations, Sunnybank Plaza and Sunny Park have joined forces to present a $2 per tasting plate self-guided foodie adventure.

“The $2 Food Trail is an exciting new idea that we are introducing to help new foodies to the area navigate the amazing variety of authentic Asian food we have on offer.  From the outside Sunnybank Plaza and Sunny Park look just like everyday shopping centres, but when you know where to look you uncover a huge world of authentic Asian food like no other”, says Marketing Manager Lisa Smith.

“Many people are yet to experience this unique and vibrant precinct, so we are inviting the foodies of Brisbane to immerse themselves in this taste sensation, with a little help along the way,” Lisa further explains.

Each stop on the  Food Trail will offer one or two $2 mini-dishes during both a lunch trail or a dinner trail. You’ll be able to graze your way through a deliciously diverse range of Asian cuisines including Chinese, Japanese, Hong Kong Style, Vietnamese, Korean, Taiwanese and more!

With its strong Asian influences, Sunnybank is a food precinct full of character and variety. Just a 15 minute drive from Brisbane CBD, you will find all the authentic flavours of the East.
