In this workshop, Svenning will take you through all the processes necessary to grow a successful bunch of bananas in your own back yard – including sourcing planting material; DPI requirements; protecting your crop from the wildlife and harvesting your crop.
There is a full program of FREE workshops happening at the Gardens every second Saturday, as part of our Community Partnership under the ‘Living Smart Saturday’ Programme with Sunshine Coast Council. All workshops commence at 9.30 am (unless otherwise indicated) and go for approx 1 1/2 to 2 hours. These FREE workshops are open to everyone in the community, not just members and volunteers at the Gardens and there is no need to book a place - unless otherwise indicated for that particular workshop. It is advisable to bring along a notepad and pen for taking notes, as well as a hat, sunscreen and your water bottle.
