Meet and wander organic fields with farmer Rob Bauer, make a sour dough, feed some animals, enjoy lavender scones on the lavender farm and much more. The foragers trail is a unique day out full of wonderful experiences for the entire family. The picturesque Scenic Rim and Lockyer Valley is situated just over an hour from Brisbane or the Gold Coast. Spend the day foraging the incredible produce, artisan’s and cafés.

Visit Bauer’s Organic Farm, meet the farmers and purchase organic vegetables.

Enjoy lavender scones and lemon myrtle cheesecake on the farm with the owners at Holmwood Lavender Farm.

Tour Arthur Clive’s Family Bakehouse, established in 1936, with the family bakers.

Visit Poppi’s Health Food Store & Wholefood Cafe to pick up more organic goodies. Meet a guest farmer in-store!

Bauer’s Organic Farm Visit the farm and meet the farmers, Rob Bauer, organic pioneer and his long-time work-mate Trude! Purchase super-fresh award winning vegies, Chef Alastair McLeod is a fan, or weather permitting pick your own. Smell the healthy soil. Pop the kids on the tractor, or yourself, for a tractor selfie!! Holmwood Lavender Farm

Nestled in the foothills of the Mulgowie Valley, it has plantings of various types of lavender surrounding it’s on-farm shop. Come to Holmwood and meet the growers Gary and Anne. Phone ahead to order lavender Devonshire tea and lemon myrtle cheesecake or drop in to smell the lavender and pick up some handmade lavender and lemon myrtle products. Open 10.00 to 3.00 first Sunday of each month (excluding 7/8/16). Phone bookings on 5466 7264.

Arthur Clive’s Family Bakehouse Trading in the Scenic Rim for over 80 years, this family owned and operated bakery/cafe has 3 retail locations at Aratula, Kalbar and Boonah. It is well known for its sour dough bread, gourmet pies, decadent cakes and pastries and house roast barista made coffee. Tour Arthur Clive’s Family Bakehouse that is also located in Kalbar on the first Sunday of each month

Poppi’s Health Food Store & Wholefood Cafe The heartbeat of local producers and artisans in the Fassifern, perfectly situated in High Street Boonah. Meet some farmers first hand and pick up some local and organic goodies, artisan’s will also be present to tantalise the taste buds and there will be local entertainment. Foraging 10.00 to 2.00 first Sunday of each month.

Branell Homestead Imagine being able to travel back in time to the way things used to be. When country hospitality wasn’t rare and everything moved at a much slower pace. Stay at Branell Homestead and enjoy luxurious accommodation set in the middle of 80 acres of farmland with spectacular views over the Lockyer Valley. The BLF site allowed me to post this info once but wouldn't go twice or thrice for the other two dates, so I've extended this listing to include all three dates.

If anyone does this food trail could they please provide some feedback.

GrowVetiver is a plant nursery run by Dave & Keir Riley that harvests and grows Vetiver grass for local community applications and use. It is based in Beachmere, just north of Brisbane, Australia.
