Council's Green Heart Fair

A FREE day of entertainment held at Mount Gravatt Showground marketplace, on November 8th. The day features Troy Cassar-Daly LIVE, sustainable exhibits, kid’s activities, great food and free plants for your garden.

At 11:00am on fair day, the Lord Mayor Cr Campbell Newman will launch Growing a Green Heart Together to help Brisbane become Australia’s most sustainable city.

Growing a Green Heart Together outlines Council’s environmental programs and seeks YOUR IDEAS on how we can work together towards a sustainable future.

Vetiver grass helps to stabilise soil and protects it against erosion.  It can protect against pests and weeds. Vetiver is also used as animal feed. (Wiki.)

GrowVetiver is a plant nursery run by Dave & Keir Riley that harvests and grows Vetiver grass for local community applications and use. It is based in Beachmere, just north of Brisbane, Australia.
