‘Growing Sustainability’ Official Opening Event for the Centre for Growing Sustainability.

Saturday 18th May, 2013 9am to 3pm

The ‘Growing Sustainability’ Official Opening will showcase the vision and aims of the CGS, to the Sunshine Coast community and beyond.

This event will provide a platform for everyone from the community and also within industry to share our vision, showcase products and services and to join together to create a sustainable, secure future.

There will be the official opening ceremony, FREE Mini Workshops in our Living Classroom, guest speakers and the Sustainability Expo. More information on the event HERE

We are excited about the presenters who will be speaking on various topics at CGS HQ and  the Big Pineapple Function Centre.

We also have fun activities for the kids....

9am- 1pm – Face Painting (CGS HQ garden)
9am-10:15am – Kids' Potting – Anne Gibson, The Micro Gardener  (CGS HQ garden) 
10:30 –11am  - Official Opening Ceremony with tree planting.  ALL WELCOME!!
11am – Nature Weavers kids' garden art
11:15 –  Storytelling (CGS HQ)


We are looking for people to meet and greet visitors, assist our speakers and help with garden and kids' activities.  T-shirt, hat and lunch will be provided. 

All volunteers please come for orientation on Tuesday 14th May from 10am to 11am - Morning Tea will be provided.

Sounds like something we need. There seems to be a lot of ecological-awareness on the Sunshine Coast so it's appropriate that a permanent location for activities is located there.

GrowVetiver is a plant nursery run by Dave & Keir Riley that harvests and grows Vetiver grass for local community applications and use. It is based in Beachmere, just north of Brisbane, Australia.
