Join Brisbane Free University in our wonderful carpark home for a discussion on food systems.
Topics will include a critique of the current food system, a vision of new systems to come, and a look into interesting food stuff that's going on in Brisbane.
Our speakers for the evening:
Carol Richards is an Australian Research Council Postdoctoral Fellow. Working from the disciplinary perspective of sociology, her main research interests are sustainable food and agriculture, transnational land investments (or "land grabbing') and food security.
Cat Green is a radical homemaker who is currently studying how to collaboratively build a fairer food system. She's part of Fair Food Brisbane, the local chapter of the Australian Food Sovereignty Alliance.
Thor Svensen is a PhD student studying in the School of Social Science at UQ. He is also actively working to develop ethical food accessibility models in South East Queensland.
