Event Description

Bob & I would love you to come and visit our garden on 28th June. It is not as spectacular as most of the other gardens in our group, but it keeps Bob off the streets and produces some food for the pot. My email is cosgrovebetty@hotmail.com

Hi Betty and Bob and all the other garden-visitors today :-)

It was great to meet you all! It is totally delightful to be among keen food gardeners. It was a bit of a hike from DBay but we both had a wonderful time which made it all worth while.

Getting those European Spinach seeds in this week - good time for above-ground plants. Interesting that they might grow during summer or at least in warmer weather than the rainbow chard.

Thank you for your kind comments on the composting discussion. There's always something to learn, especially about the science behind the systems we use to harness the goodness of the earth's tiniest beings. Truly magical :-)

Happy gardening to you all ... Elaine (and Elaine)

Hi Chris
Thanks for that information on the European Spinach. We have found it to be the nicest spinach we have tried. It is a pale green and has a delicate flavour and the green stalks are very delicious also. We find it the easiest to grow, so good luck, you should have a good crop.

Donna, It was our pleasure to have you all over. We enjoy having personal contact with our group - so many interesting and talented people willing to share. I know your event in July will be wonderful and I can't wait.

thanks Betty & Bob a very intresting Garden Visit , i have planted the spinach seeds and have been reading with intrest that the prickly-seeded varieties, which generally have more lobed leaves, where in the past hardier in cold weather, and more tolerant of summer heat; they are considered more primitive , so thank you i am very pleased to have some .

What a great garden, and thanks so much for the yummy treats and to Elaine for the composting information. Makes me pretty scared that mine comes next, oh well *sigh*.
