Madagascar beans are the best aren't they. They are growing here on the property I am on and I use them regularly fresh (I pick them youngish).

Good - you guys should have worked out which of these machines is the best buy by the time I go looking :)

Just on the Silampos option (LINK) -- I think you want to get a Pressure Cooker that is sturdy and offers a long life. That also enables easy replacement of parts -- like the rubber ring --  because all pressure cookers aren't equal.

So I'd check the pressure cooker review sites before purchase.

Good for you Elaine.  Your chic peas and brown rice will be done in minutes, so too your soups, curries and casseroles.  Just remember, with clever cooking, you'll think you've gone to heaven.  Pressure cookers do so much more than wet dishes!

Don't do ribs or much meat. Chick Peas take a very long time as does brown Rice. I do vege soups including split pea without the ham and vege curries and casseroles.

If I get it for the reserve it'll be $90 including postage.

I'll do some American BBQ ribs in it soon Elaine.  You use the oven griller for the last 10 minutes.  Wait for that clip, and maybe a few more before you judge.  So far, I am happy, but Andy can be a picky boy. My clips are always honest.

Loving it Elaine! It's actually not that different to a slow cooker in design... except it works at higher temp and locks the steam in completely (almost).  If you put a slow cooker on high, put in a bit of butter and then put onions in, you have the saute function (albeit a slow version).  They seem to have applied a bit of brain power to the ways you can use it, aside from as a very fast stew machine.  It's fascinating.

Andy yours sound more like one of those over-priced things which blow up. Forget the name but they do everything except sing 'God Save the Queen'. Anyway - it sounds like a pressure cooker on steroids. AND it sounds as though you are having a great deal of fun with it!
