Growing local

With the rain I've been thinking that there may be times I want to cover things up to get less - do you have any suggestions for this?

Never thought of that. Takes a new pair of eyes to come up with good ideas! The 'something' would have to be waterproof. However - I wouldn't worry. I have plants in wicking bins with a 22mm overflow hole. Nothing so far in 5 years has drowned. So plants in the garden are unlikely to drown either.
