Welcome to Brisbane Local Foods (BLF) Mahesha, I am sure you would enjoy visiting our member’s gardens. We have members who grow many different kinds of Gardens, Permaculture, Aquaculture, Wicking Beds, Traditional and many more. The GV's are usually held once a month. At the GV's we share cuttings, plants, produce, seeds, knowledge as well as a good chat and a lovely Homemade Morning Tea.

Enjoy the site and hope to meet you soon at a GV.

Welcome to BLF Mahesha (or M) :)

I don't normally do the welcoming to the site these days, but seeing as I invited you....

Really enjoyed myself with the wonderful group at Dayboro yesterday and came home with some great goodies.

We're getting both groups together on 8th October. You'll see a listing (above in the main menu which runs along the top of the page) under Events but I'm sure Lynn will let the Dayboro folk know as well.

BLF also runs Garden Visits (GV's) to members gardens which you may like to attend. Have a look under Groups (top menu) "Garden Visits" and you'll find a calendar with them listed. Scroll down once in the group and you'll find all the past GV's with pics.

Happy gardening

Vetiver grass helps to stabilise soil and protects it against erosion.  It can protect against pests and weeds. Vetiver is also used as animal feed. (Wiki.)

The Vetiver Community Project is a plant nursery run by Dave & Keir Riley that harvests and grows Vetiver grass for local community applications and use. It is based in Beachmere, just north of Brisbane, Australia.
