I just posted this at one of your photo as I didn't see you started a discussion "Could it be a toad? I think I am having a toad plague atm.... .. If you're my neighbour you probably had heard me screamed on several occasions over the last week... like finding about 10 toads sitting in my seedling pots jumping away when I approached to water them at night after work. Finding a big toad swimming in my watering can when I was about to pick it up to do some watering. Finding a big toad sitting the bottom of the bucket where the sweet potato snips are kept... Finding toads when I make a hole in the mulch to put in seeds.. Gosh, they're EVERYWHERE!! What can I do???"

The toads generally make a depression to sit in over night where I have watered and the soil's moist.... if it was a hole made by a toad, maybe it was moist under the laundry line?
