Just started in Australia, follows the River Cottage experience in UK. It might be a solution for landless renters for starters or even for families with not enough land for their needs or even for we oldies if we get beyond working our own gardens. I'm member number 36 and I would love to have some BLF members join in.

Darn, the Biochar the local guy makes is only for his own use. The product I have on order from Redcliffe Produce, is made from Victorian 'chook litter' whether that means free-range or battery or barns I don't know. Anyway there's 46 members now so it is taking off if only slowly.

Nor am I Donna but I put myself down as a 'helper'. I've PMd a guy in Kurwongbah (just down the road!) who is interested in and makes his own Biochar. Don't know whether he sells it, only hope he reads his mail on that site. Landshare is in its infancy so there's not going to be much activity for a while but there is a Questions section so that might keep us out of mischief ;-) in the interim. The Forum hasn't started yet but this one will do me, don't want to get involved in another.

GrowVetiver

GrowVetiver is a plant nursery run by Dave & Keir Riley that harvests and grows Vetiver grass for local community applications and use. It is based in Beachmere, just north of Brisbane, Australia.
