I am so impressed at the rate of reproduction in my compost bin. I went to the time-warp shop (aka Bunnings) and got most of the things I need to build a new BSFL farm.
I am following this blog http://blacksoldierflyblog.com/bsf-bucket-composter-version-2-1/
It's a shame this guy does not deliver to Australia because I certainly spent more the $68 and still forgot a few things. The velcro alone was nearly $20.
Here I am cutting the middle lid in my lovely polka dots pjs ;-D
Mmh the rest will have to wait if I want to meet my work deadline Aaaargh!
End of January.
Aha Task completed! Still waiting for the flies to lay though. Mmm… :L
It seems to host more fruit and house flies than anything else. Sprinkled lime liberally.
Maybe more moisture and more decaying food?
Oh yes and missing the collection box.

I've converted my original worm farm into a BSF harvester, the Silver Perch love them! Go BSF!!!
Ummm... Valerie...
I just use a $15, 60 litre bin from Bunnings (complete with lots of holes drilled in). Chuck my compost in like normal. Admittedly, I leave it a tad wetter than most people would, but I have soldier flies coming out of my ars*** -- compost! I bought a cheap strainer so I can wash them before I feed them to the fish.
