Growing local

I don't know why it happened but becoming a parent has changed me. It has made me want to run away to a hobby farm and raise my kids away from it all. I would probably last all of two weeks and then be a hysterical mess, who knows?

While escaping the suburbs is not a possibility at the moment, embracing them is. I'm learning to be thankful for what I have. Which includes a massive yard with loads of potential. It's a place to start making better choices for our new family and the wider community through growing some of our own produce.

My partner believes he is a natural farmer ;)
I believe I am pretty hopeless but have lots of desire to make this work.
My children believe that Totoro (a Japanese anime forest spirit) makes our seeds sprout.

Hopefully together we can make our garden an exciting and abundant place.

Yes, Totoro is amazing, not too sure about growing oak trees in the backyard though :)  Sounds like you've got a good size yard, so there should be plenty other plants you can play with ~   How old are your littlies?  Our son is 15 months ~

Enjoy the journey and don't worry about the destination.
