Almost the end of spring and I want shade 2016

I've decided I need a shade tree to go in the backyard.  Let's face it - I want some grass, but I also want to be able to sit out in my backyard and enjoy it.  Hence a shade tree.   It must be deciduous, relatively small, not necessarily productive (if it is - can't have fruit fly prone fruit as I will not be keeping small enough for netting) but beautiful if not.  Jacaranda's and Poinsettia's are out -> Jacs are too big and the Poins are too wide.  Something about the poinsettia's height…

November in the Garden

Hi Everyone,

Well wasn't today just a barrel of fun!! 30 degrees at Wynnum but I went to Roger's garden visit today which is out west a bit and it was 35!!!!!  I frantically ran around watering everything this morning before potting up some left over rosella seedlings and a Listada De Gandia eggplant to take.

We have been harvesting nectarines for the past 2 weeks now.  Every 2nd or 3rd day I go out and get about 1Kg.  It's been great.…

GrowVetiver

GrowVetiver is a plant nursery run by Dave & Keir Riley that harvests and grows Vetiver grass for local community applications and use. It is based in Beachmere, just north of Brisbane, Australia.
