Thanks to all who came to share the day with us and especially to Dianne who encouraged me all the way.
It was such a lovely Brisbane day and I learnt that I have more edible plants in my garden than I thought! From Sophie and Andrew , I learnt what to do with my ugly mass of gelatinous kombucha ... ..thanks.

What a glorious day and a glorious garden we had a visit in today. Steve and Ann's garden is magical - approximately 1/4 of an acre (I'm guessing here - it could be larger) of beautifully maintained gardens with edibles dispersed through the ornamentals, lovely large verandah to sit an chat on and a quiet setting down near the Brisbane river. A walk around the happenings in the garden is to experience a lot of up and down.

25 degrees today People! This is not winter weather, today was glorious. Sure, there was a little bit of a nip in the air but you couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day.
I went outside and did my big weekly harvest. I always do a midweek small harvest but collect a lot on the weekend (I had today off so it was my "weekend" :). This time of year it's lazy days.
The weeds don't thrive. Irrigation needs are forgiving. Plants grow in their own good time...
Mind you, seeds are slow to sprout . But if you are patient, the harvests keep a'comin.
Best time of year: no question. Here in SEQ at least.

Vetiver grass helps to stabilise soil and protects it against erosion. It can protect against pests and weeds. Vetiver is also used as animal feed. (Wiki.)
