Garden Jan 2017

Happy new year everyone! May this year be a productive and fruitful one... In the garden, of course! Sadly, I have not appreciated the warm weather and have pretty much abandoned gardening duties these last two months... Nonetheless, we had some plants put in earlier that have had their first harvest, which is exciting! Have not been sowing new salad leaves in the heat but do regret because we are definitely running low...

Too hot to do much.

Hi everyone,

Well the heat is devastating at the moment.  It has been sapping me of all energy and I have not been keeping up with the planting so only relying on what is already there.   Capsicums, tomatoes, trombonccinos, silverbeet and some corn.    Here is the set up for the capsicums - the net allows me to grow perfect fruit that are completely unstung.…

Pots: brewing and irrigating

It works! It truly works!

Who woulda thought?

I am learning to love my pots.

I have three models: one for the collection of slops and 'teas' ; the others to irrigate my garden.

The slops and washes protocol  is really kicking in (see diagram at right).

New Year in the garden.

Hi everyone,

Well it's been a busy couple of weeks and I finally have computer access again so YAY! The storm a couple of weeks ago, blew up our computer and wifi and we have only just got it back.  I had a couple of days away as well but the garden did not suffer too badly this time.  I made sure everything was well watered and we also got a little helping hand with a storm.  However, 5 days away was enough to do this to my trombonccino's.…
