It's been a long time since I've blogged here, as there's been a lot less activities in the garden for me over the past year. I've been spending a lot more time in the kitchen since I'm married ^^" ironically needing more produce than ever ~

After a lot of messing about we decided to go ahead and buy some Banana plants. We’d been dickering for years about that - have them down the front (no fence) and expect the bunch to walk by itself. Have them at the back and in wet weather it’s ankle deep in water and stays wet for weeks being on a clay base. Anyway, dang it ... we want some of our own Bananas! I regularly make my own potting mix at home to save money and control what my plants are growing in. I had a lot of trouble with bagged mixes (although I now use Searles when I need a commercial mix). I used to waste a lot of time adding nutrients every time I potted up a plant so do this now when I make the mix. I get good results so thought I'd share what I do, but I'd love to know what recipes others use too.…
