Well I have heaps of chilli at the moment, and could buy a bag of cheap chinese garlic at the shops.. Just boil them together for awhile then strain? Does it need a wetting agent like soap/ dish liquid or will the garlic stick do you think?

I think maybe a frog deficit - am installing a pond. When my chickens get into the garden they scratch all the seedlings out, grrr. Actually am wondering if it might be caterpillars now - bok choy volunteers in the gravel next to the vegie garden ...

Yes, I drilled some holes in the base. On reflection I think there are better ways to do this, like using a cage or bamboo enclosure of some kind, because the sides block the light and make the spuds grow leggy. The lack of light in my courtyard d...
Is there holes/ drainage at the bottom of the bin? Looks like a great idea, I wasn't brave enough for potatoes this year - last year I had a disaster with 'naughty' ladybirds and their young eating every single leaf no matter how many I picked off...
Yeah the peas started alright but lacked vigor. Not sure what the cause was exactly!

- Hi Tim, We did our PDC together, great to catch up with you! wonderful you've gone on to do the APT3, I guess you'll be on flood cleanup duty now though, looks like it was pretty bad through there. My partners business lost a downstairs printer worth mega dollars from that flood and they are just up the road from the farm. I've gone a bit quiet on the farm scene at the moment, only because I've started full time study doing building design and its a huge workload, however it should all be worth it as the aim is when I finnish in 18mths time to combine the permaculture and building design to work on sustainable urban solutions, I've always loved the passive solar concept and wanted to take the whole package further using permaculture. Please say Hi to anyone else you see from our group and the team at Northey St, it would be lovely to have a get together, we had such a great group, take care and good luck with the course, cheers Heather
