Been a while :/

Has been a short while (over 12 months :/ ) since my last post so thought I would do a bit of a catch up..

The front yard has had a few different garden beds set up in it now.. I played around with hay bale beds out there during the cooler months but am finding it a bit hard to keep them hydrated at the moment.. Some have been pulled down & used in a no dig spud bed already with some of the others destaned to become part of a no dig wicking bed trial in the near…

Started to get my act into gear this week & did a few small jobbies around the patch..

The Aquaponics set up has been tweaked to include an extra overflow as we have had a few overflow incidents this week due to an over abundance of algae.. Haven't set up the new grow beds yet but hope to have a picture of them by the next post... For now I do have a clip on the new Jade perch we released into the system last weekend...…

Just thought I would make a blog post to introduce ourselves as we have been lurking members for a while now..

We are a family of 4 that are trying our hands at Urban Farming in Ipswich.. We have had a garden for the past few years that has evolved slowly into what we have today with plans to increase its size & production.. This summer was a bit of a dud for us (wont bore you with the details) & we are now looking to plant out…

The Vetiver Community Project is a plant nursery run by Dave & Keir Riley that harvests and grows Vetiver grass for local community applications and use. It is based in Beachmere, just north of Brisbane, Australia.
