About me:
At the moment I only have a patio and a small courtyard for myself and my two boys to garden, so we need to make every pot count! I also have very little time, so I'm really having to hone my gardening skills. It's amazing how much excitement and satisfaction we get from our our little pots and planters!
In the past I've had massive vege patches and a few fruit trees.
I am currently involved with the following community gardens and groups:
I have so little time, but I'm super keen to be in this group!
I am interested in:
I'm interested in everything that grows, but at the moment by necessity, container growing our veggies, herbs and our very mini orchard are my main focus.

Hi Rachel, welcome to the group. I grow in a lot of different types of containers, although I have plenty of space at my place, the soil is so poor that I get more success (can control the moisture and soil mixture easily) in containers. I grow in pots, horse feed sacks, wheelie bins, old bath tubs, polystyrene boxes, PVC pipes, etc. all with varying degrees of success. I suggest that you come along to our garden visits to see what is possible and what others are doing.

Good Morning Rachel, Welcome to Brisbane Local Foods (BLF). I am sure you will find our GROUP Growing in Pots/Containers a help in your desire to grow your Vegetables and other Herbs and Plants.

Here at the top of the page, you will also find many GROUPS to join. One is these is the GARDEN VISITS, 2018 GARDEN VISITS CALENDAR. I am sure you would enjoy visiting our member’s gardens. We have members who grow many different kinds of Gardens, Permaculture, Aquaculture, Wicking Beds, Traditional and many more. The GV's are usually held once a month. At the GV's we share cuttings, plants, produce, seeds, knowledge as well as a good chat and a lovely Homemade Morning Teas.

We have many subjects of interest, if you have any questions I am sure we would have a member or site available to answer that question. If you feel you are particularly adept in a field you may like to add a new Group to our List or perhaps do a talk or demonstration at one of our GV. If a yes for the GV you might like to friend me and we can see what we can do. We are always looking for new ideas.

You may like to go into your page and change the Pea Leaf Avatar for one of your own, it makes it a little more personal and as soon as we see your own Avatar we know who it is. Please enjoy BLF…..
