It looks like a Tortoise Beetle.. I don't think they're aggressive feeders so shouldn't pose much of a threat to plants. They come in quite a stunning variety of colours and patterns.
OK so here is a trickier bug identification. I have only seen these guys on one particular day - I dont know if they are larvae or mature, and the colouration was incredible, with a clear shell revealing a metallic internal, green ans gold inclusive.
Being me, I don’t notice small insects like that and wouldn’t know what bit me when I feel the pain… now I should watch out for these guys… ^^”
