Native Stingless Bees

Posted on June 23, 2016 at 19:28 2 Comments

Hi fellow gardening loving Brisbanians.

Please show your love and support for local Brissy girl, Sarah Hamilton from Bee Yourself, I'm sure a few of you are already acquainted with her. She's doing a marvelous job for our local native stingless bees.

We recently did a little video showing off the "ladies". Hope you enjoy:

One year on and my little gardens doing great! Just wish it'll rain a bit more soon...

Thanks to all you BLF members for all your shared knowledge throughout 2013. Keep it coming!

Vetiver grass helps to stabilise soil and protects it against erosion.  It can protect against pests and weeds. Vetiver is also used as animal feed. (Wiki.)

The Vetiver Community Project is a plant nursery run by Dave & Keir Riley that harvests and grows Vetiver grass for local community applications and use. It is based in Beachmere, just north of Brisbane, Australia.
