Profile Information

About me:
I am currently involved with the following community gardens and groups:
None really but in a way I support Ethos, Food Connect & Flexible Learning Centre community
Want to create a Brisbane eco village/ intentional community to share resources and built better people connections.
Am passionate about communication and how to get people involved in all this 'green' stuff. I think there are huge parallels between running the community where I work so that all feel responsible and supported, and intentional communities for living.
I don't think I personally would ever grow more than a herb garden but I don't have to so long as CSA's or other farmer-consumer connections exist. I am a very good consumer of local food. The producers need the like of me!
I'll be out there, campaigning for people to think this way: others can produce the food. I'd love to do this with others.
I am interested in:
Meeting with like minded people and mounting a steady campaign.
I am limited in time by the necessity to make money but we should be able to downsize when young adults leave the nest.
My website is:
http://to be advised

welcome to the site, we all have our gifts and communication is a most needed asset we can't all grow stuff or as you say there would be no one to trade with.....Gabrielle in a way your Brisbane eco village/sharing of and connecting resources has started right here.
The wealth of people and skills base is already growing on this BLF site.

Vetiver grass helps to stabilise soil and protects it against erosion.  It can protect against pests and weeds. Vetiver is also used as animal feed. (Wiki.)

GrowVetiver is a plant nursery run by Dave & Keir Riley that harvests and grows Vetiver grass for local community applications and use. It is based in Beachmere, just north of Brisbane, Australia.
