Vetiver grass helps to stabilise soil and protects it against erosion. It can protect against pests and weeds. Vetiver is also used as animal feed. (Wiki.)
GrowVetiver is a plant nursery run by Dave & Keir Riley that harvests and grows Vetiver grass for local community applications and use. It is based in Beachmere, just north of Brisbane, Australia.

parsnip. was eden seeds variety, no cross pollination, should be fine.basil was bought seedlings, chicory from either eden seeds or vietnamese grocer, can't remember - but I'd bet open pollinated because highly variable - leaves, colour, habit, flowering time etc..

chicoryWe are a new seed saving group with about 15 members (10 active) and try to have meetings once a month to share/ swap. The members are also involved with garden visits which is co-ordinated through this site.
At the moment we aren't as organised as specific workshops, hopefully that will come in time. A lot of the members (myself included) are very new to vegetable gardening so we share our experiences and ask the more experienced members for advice, mostly via this forum.
