The Big Crunch

I think the start of 2009 marked the beginning of the big crunch. Back in the seventies we were speculating on how we needed to get back to a grass roots lifestyle in order to prepare ourselves for when things go pear shaped on planet earth. The best thing we can do is to grow and produce as much of our own food as we can. We are fairly well food self sufficient on our farm at Black Mountain on the Sunshine Coast and all the food that I prepare at home in my kitchen I have evolved into one day w… Continue

parsnip. was eden seeds variety, no cross pollination, should be fine.
basil was bought seedlings, chicory from either eden seeds or vietnamese grocer, can't remember - but I'd bet open pollinated because highly variable - leaves, colour, habit, flowering time etc..

Hi Elisabeth, it has been a crazy month for me - my apologies for not getting back to you earlier!
We are a new seed saving group with about 15 members (10 active) and try to have meetings once a month to share/ swap. The members are also involved with garden visits which is co-ordinated through this site.
At the moment we aren't as organised as specific workshops, hopefully that will come in time. A lot of the members (myself included) are very new to vegetable gardening so we share our experiences and ask the more experienced members for advice, mostly via this forum.
