We bred them big and weird here!
We should have a unique and ugly fruit or vegie site. I have had one huge pepino that I was going to show you, but the possum enjoyed it last night, only about 1/4 left.
Yes Susan, it is one massive Turnip and believe it or not it was not woody but a lovely smooth texture throughout.
Is that one massive turnip I spy at the back there?? I do believe that he is quite beautiful :P
You know what they say about books and covers ;-) Peeling? You'd peel a fresh-picked home-grown verge? :-O Scrub off the dirt, rinse off and either munch raw or steam (or whatever other cooking method is your favourite). Nothing like it.
Now Now, we are not all perfect shapes. Peeling may be a task, but I bet they taste good, and full of vitamins and minerals.

Vetiver grass helps to stabilise soil and protects it against erosion. It can protect against pests and weeds. Vetiver is also used as animal feed. (Wiki.)
GrowVetiver is a plant nursery run by Dave & Keir Riley that harvests and grows Vetiver grass for local community applications and use. It is based in Beachmere, just north of Brisbane, Australia.
