Growing local

Nobody enjoys culling quail. Still, there's two meals for 3 adults in the 9 birds today. I accidently took out one female. Having said that, the rest of the girls are now so happy to see the end of those mad males that's it's quite lovely to see them so relaxed. Now vacumn sealed for the freezer.

I'm still amazed at how much we've fitted on our tiny block Fiona.

We live on a small suburban block that we’re gradually transforming. I can’t see us ever having chickens but maybe quail may be the answer. It’s a long way off yet but something to think about.
