Blood hell, that's a big bugger!

Good for you Brendan :)

I'm still working on the fit part! I love being able to do something productive and in turn get healthier from it, just 3 months ago I was 146kg. It will be a sight for sore eyes to see something bloom in its place.

You're both young and fit! The sort of work I used to love.....when I was young and fit. Now I do things such as Dave suggested with the tarp.

How satisfying will it be to get this cleaned up and something productive in it's place. Looks like you have a fairly big bit of land there.

When I seen the stumps and the amount that there were I was thinking I'd need some sort of earthwork machine.. Definitely an absolute bugger.

Mulch, maybe -- but this ginger is an absolute bugger to control and fully remove. Up there with bamboo. I think it is now a declared weed in Qld.

Request: do not have a heart attack.

Getting out the root mass is the hardest part. Last time I tackled the plant I  cut back the stems, then covered the remaining roots with a tarp until they died and  rotted down. Any new shoot I slashed back.

Back hoe worked real well on another patch of my experience.

Lovely plant though...
