Elderberry Cordial stage 1 Soaking Flowers Overnight

The Elderberries are blooming and I have decided to make Elderberry Cordial with the Flowers. Here I have put the Elderberry Flowers into a bowl with Lemon and Orange Zest and poured boiling water over the top. These are then soaked overnight.

Hi Dianne,

Thanks for posting this.  I've heard that it is used for this but never seen it in action.  You'll have to let me know how it tastes.

Wow, this is so interesting Dianne. I have never tasted elderberry anything but i love making cordials/syrups etc.  Rosella makes a fabulous cordial - which reminds me to sow some soon!

Great stuff Dianne. I had an Elderberry Tree when I lived in Cooktown, and I saved 3 pounds of ripe berries from the fruit eating Birds. I then made 4 liters of " Elderberry Wine" ---- it was really nice. The plant is up there with the " Mulberry " for versatility.
