Growing local

The tree was a valentines' gift for my Rozie a few years ago. Unlike a box of chocolates, it keeps on giving.

Either God, evolution or both give us lots of citrus at the start of winter to battle colds and flu.  I'm also finding that I'm getting a crop or two of Madagascar beans for my winter stews/soups as well, and greens/tomatoes are coming in now as well.
The quails are growing enough to sex, so I'll have meat too. Having said that, never under-estimate a first year female quail.  They are such good layers.  I worked hard over summer to preserve mango chutney, chile sauce, salsa verde, smoked tomato sauce etc.
I reckon the world is looking okay.

Good show Andy!  I haven’t had another ripen yet.  I also lost my first cara cara orange to fruit splitting :(. Oh well, have quite a few citrus waiting to ripen so I shouldn’t complain.

And doesn't stack fat onto your hips ;-)

Well done Andy ... I had read that Grapefruit and especially the Ruby variety prefer the colder weather than we have. As you and Susan have shown, what I read is not always true! The Ruby's are the sweetest Grapefruit and go wonderfully well with chicken.
