Growing local

This is a future project

Wish it was mine! It is a future goal.
So far I've upgraded (?) my garden retaining walls as I've put in new ones, from Bunnings style sleepers to Aldi veg beds to stacked bricks held together with bamboo garden stakes. The latter have cracks that adventurous insects or lizards could use.

Fantastic - I haven't got any insect hotels at the moment and this has given me an idea for a new garden bed.

I love it. Where on earth did you get such great pieces to put in it.?

That's very flash Susanne.

Yes, that's right. I read that recently - probably an ANBees post - there's no cleaning out or maintenance with solitary insects. Mine are kludged up too at least some little people have found breeding sites once anyway.

That's quite gorgeous.

The funny thing about my insect hotels - the insects seem to use them just the once and then abandon them. Perhaps I should dismantle them and wash out the tubing.

Quite the neatest gabions I've seen.
