Yes Megan.  They are given a good life and as fast and painless death as possible.  Ethically, I'd eat one of my own birds over a shop bought chicken.  I just can't produce them fast enough (and my Rozie isn't too keen either).

Alas for those of us who are male.  I need but one male for 3 or 4 ladies.  I had to waste the excess Elaine (to spare my Rozie).  Ordinarily, the guts would go to the chooks and the rest in the compost.

Not on their own volition, I'm sure, that this small covey of quails chills. En route they look like a Rorschach test.

Quail lifestyle, too? Apparently.
