I suspect in a few weeks another one (snake) will move in Elaine. I hate snakes but he was quite beautiful and docile in the cool of the evening. We came eye to eye as I was shutting the chicken coop. I think my undies will be clean after a few more washes.
Aha - in which case the rats will return if there's something to tempt them. Much as I can admire snakes and their place in our world, I would not like to have one living so close to me, either. A green tree snake insinuated itself in the window frame over the hot water heater one winter. I found someone local to remove it (before I had a heart attack ;-) since then the fly/security screens keep out wandering wildlife.
The man on the right is the snake catcher Elaine. The snake has been relocated.
Is the snake staying? They can eat a wallaby so the hens could be next once the rats are gone.
