They look so completely different from the roots I dug up, now identified as Galangal. At least they look like they might be tender.
Flavour is the whole point though isn't it. Not much use without flavour.
I dug these up & have identified them as Lesser Galangal, but the root has no flqvour its just crisp even the old roots hare the same. Anyone else have these.

Vetiver grass helps to stabilise soil and protects it against erosion. It can protect against pests and weeds. Vetiver is also used as animal feed. (Wiki.)
