Russell, have you ever looked into bio-intensive mini-farming. It is quite interesting to view on video, the main one I have seen is John Jeavons.  His system gives some ideas on how much land you need to feed 4 persons.  The thing that amazes me is that you have to allow quite a bit of space to grow your own compost foods.  It is the old story we hear more and more- feed the soil not the plants.

Some parts are a bit depressing when he suggests that we will run out of productive soil for farming, sooner than we think.

Love the way you have the netting set up.  By the look of your veges this set up works well, maybe one day I will get at least some of my garden netted.  Would love to see your full set up

Hey Susan

Thank you for the comment, the pic is just part of the setup...all of the garden has netting as well as shade cloth covers on various beds.

I have the beds either in 800 wide with 200 walkways or 2 mtr wide with access from both sides as you can see from the pic, I have it so I can either push the netting up to work on it or roll it over to lay down one side if I need to work on it more extensively.

You may be able to see I have an overhead micro spray setup for this particular bed. I have a different combination for different beds ranging from drip irrigation, wobbler heads, micro sprays and of course good ole hand watering :-)

What a lovely, productive set up.  I’ve often thought of netting my whole back garden in summer....
