Growing local

The school garden has recovered from the brutal heat that we began the term with and now we look forward to our first harvests.
New initiatives are the shaded 'class room' -- The Red Fort -- surrounded by perennials including our own micro pineapple plantation.
As well the first of our climbing bean teepees has risen to the heavens surrounding a wee cubby.
The big project is laying out, planting and navigating our new Sunflower Maze.
Next week it's harvesting and salad making/eating with hopefully distribution of the rest of the lettuce harvest to the school community.
