Christa just realised I have some black pitanga flowers out at the moment so rubbed some of them onto cherry of the rio flowers. Have tied a ribbon on the ones that i have done this to and can keep those seeds seperate
Give it a go, nothing to loose. I believe the Grimal with hybrid red and sabara are good companions for cross pollinating. The small Cherry rio grande rootstock can be used for grafting, I would have to search my notes to know what scions to use.
Yeah lots of bees around. I wonder if I could get some chery of rio grande flowers and rub them on the grimal flowers? Might try it thr flowers look similiar
Beautiful sight, are there any bees hanging around? You know you can cross pollinate if any other plants of similar genus, are flowering. We will have to keep records of when they flower. My reds are no where near flowering age yet. Enjoy.
Difference a few days make.
